Skin & Bones

Can’t start a fire, without a spark.

Challenge

Skin & Bones wanted a Valentine’s Day gift for clients that was thoughtful, memorable, and a playful take on an unassuming holiday. The challenge was to design something small in scale but big in impact, a piece that would stand out from typical corporate tokens and leave a lasting impression.

Outcome

The result was a set of custom matchboxes designed as keepsakes. Created in eight unique variations, each leaned into humour, nostalgia, and wordplay suited to the holiday. The project turned an everyday object into a conversation piece, reinforcing Skin & Bones’ identity as a studio that finds delight in the details and brings creativity into every interaction.

My Role

I designed the matchbox series from concept through execution. With production constraints in mind, I developed variations that carried distinct personalities while working as a cohesive set. My role was to balance playfulness with brand integrity, ensuring the gifts reflected Skin & Bones’ voice while creating a tactile experience clients would remember long after the holiday.
